The scientific background of our mindfulness training

The scientific results show that mindfulness has positive effects on health and well-being, coping with stress, effective behavior and personal relationships. Moreover, it has already been proven that mindfulness- and acceptance-based therapies are effective in the treatment of chronic pain as well as many psychological disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder). ² ³ ⁴ ⁵

Also mindfulness trainings are effective in reducing stress, depression and anxiety as well as improving mindfulness and well-being. ⁶ ⁷

Recent studies provide evidence that mindfulness can also be used very effectively in the form of self-help and online intervention. ¹ ²


Based on these findings we have developed this internet-based mindfulness training explicitly for international students- to support you as effectively as possible to deal with your problems. International students have to deal with different stress sources deriving from living in and adapting to a foreign country, language barriers, homesickness, loneliness and discrimination. These stressful experiences can make it difficult to ask for help. StudiCare Mindfulness provides anonymity, independence from time and place and is easily accessible on your computer or tablet – to help you help yourself in dealing with the challenges of life. And to support you in being able to enjoy all the good things about it too!
